Children's Weekend Classes
Introduction
Every Saturday and Sunday your children can learn English at American Language. We use Jolly Phonics to introduce reading and writing. Our teachers will also develop their speaking and listening skills.
Course Information
Courses are on Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 to 11:30 AM. Children will have a new and clean classroom with two teachers. One of the teachers is a Native Speaker and the other is Thai. English is the main language used in the classroom. Some Thai may be used to assist our students with some exercises.
Children will start with Phonics. Phonics is a new approach to teaching. The theory is that children respond quicker to reading and writing if they are taught the sounds of the letters first as opposed to the names of the letters. For example, instead of teaching 'a', we will teach them 'aaaaa' as in "apple."
After phonics, we will conduct an exericise in speaking and listening. This may be a game or an arts and crafts activity.
We accept children ages 4 to 6 at this time. Groups are limited to 10 students.
How to Get Started with Children's classes
American Langauge doesn't have a fixed schedule for children's classes so your child may start anytime if there is a slot available. We do ask that parents bring their kids to class on both Saturday and Sunday. This is because we have 42 sounds to teach before we start writing words. One sound is taught each class.

**Students must be able to learn well with others without any difficulties interacting with other children.
**Children must be aged 4 to 6. Younger learners may study if they show an apptitude for learning.
