Can I take a placement test before I learn?

Yes. At this time we are offering a FREE placement test. top

What is the difference between private and group lessons?

Private lessons are taught to one to four students. Group lessons are five or more students. Private lessons are typically more effective because there is more talk time between the teacher and student(s). top

How much are the courses?

Private lessons start at 499 baht/hour for one student. Add 100 baht for each additional student. top

I want to study with my friend. Will the price change?

Yes. Each additional student is 100 baht/hour. top

What is the maximum number of students in a class?

For private lessons, there can be four students in a class. For groups, there can be five to fifteen students. top

If I want to study with a group, will you find other people to study with me?

If you want to study in a group and pay the group rates, you will need to have five students minimum. We can help you find some students to start a group.. top

Where can I study?

For corporate lessons, we will study at the company. For all other lessons, you can study at our school. Our facilities are new and comfortable. top

Do you have writing courses?

Yes. We can teach academic, general and business writing. top

When can I study?

We are flexible at American Language. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule. top

How often should I study?

For best results, it is best to study as frequently as possible. If you are serious about learning English, 5 days a week, for one hour a day is best. top

Can I reschedule a class if I'm busy?

Yes. For private lessons, you are allowed to cancel two classes per course and reschedule as many as your teacher can accomodate. top

How long will it take before I can become fluent in English?

There are many factors involved here. Some of the biggest are: how often the student studies per week; how much English does the student already know; the age of the student; the attitude of the student. Two to three years is a typical figure for most students. If a student only wants to be able to function in a foreign country, then they could probably get by with 80-100 hours of studying. top

Can I try a free lesson?

At the moment, we are very busy and can't provide free lessons. However, you can talk to a teacher or with our students before you enroll. top

Do I need to know a little English before I can study at American Language?

It is recommended that the student know basic reading and writing before starting to learn with us. If the student is not ready for a native English speaker, we can provide a Thai teacher with excellent qualifications. top

Do your teachers have university degrees?

Yes. Our teachers have university degrees from top universities in their countries. They also have TEFL certificates which certify them as English teachers. They also have experience teaching English in Thailand. top

Can the teachers speak Thai?

Our teachers have a basic ability in Thai. However, the CLT method of teaching requires that only English is spoken in the classroom. top

Do you use textbooks?

Yes. We use Interchange by Cambridge. It is the best series for learning conversation. top

Do you have a study abroad program?

Yes. We have a study abroad program in San Diego, California. It is the best city in America to learn English in. top

For corporate classes, can you teach at our company?

Yes. We come to your company and teach onsite. top
